MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
NOTE: APPLIES TO THE 50 KM, 100 KM, AND 100 MILES DISTANCES ONLY
We assume that most of you have previously participated in this type of race and therefore know what additional equipment you may need beyond the mandatory items. For example, a headlamp is recommended if you expect to be running after dark.
-
Mobile phone with the emergency number +46 70 457 87 93 (also printed on your race bib)
-
A navigation tool, such as the Min Karta mobile app, so you can provide your location in an emergency or find your way back to the course if you take a wrong turn
-
First aid kit (including a pressure bandage and any personal medications)
-
Race bib
-
Timing chip*
-
GPS tracker* (100 KM and 100 Miles only)
-
Emergency blanket or windproof jacket (100 KM and 100 Miles only)

COURSE MARKING
-
During Uka Pain, follow the ORANGE markings. At every point where the course turns off, there is at least one arrow showing you the direction.
-
Out on the trails you will find orange Uka Pain tape around trees, or an orange dot on trees and trail posts.
-
On longer stretches along roads (asphalt/gravel), there are trail posts with a small orange flag.
-
In some places along the course we add extra small orange flags to clearly show where you should go.
The course is clearly marked and on trails there is a maximum of about 100 meters between markings (most likely less). Along gravel and asphalt roads there may be up to about 300 meters between markings.
If you are running in the dark, you don’t need to worry as long as you have a headlamp — there are reflectors along the entire course.
No matter how well the course is marked, we recommend downloading the GPX file and installing it on your watch or in a mobile app. Unfortunately, it is becoming more common for people to remove course markings, so having the GPX file with you can be extra reassurance.
100 KM AND 100 MILES
For those running 100 km or 100 miles, we use different arrow colors: orange arrows for clockwise and green arrows for counter‑clockwise.
The GPX file can be downloaded on the page for each race.

Clockwise (orange) and counter-clockwise (green). Counter-clockwise green arrow only applies to 102km and 100Miles
